Our Story
Mela Verde is a proprietary trading firm specializing in market-making in the digital asset class. Our founders Leo Martinez (CEO) and Kyle Mifflin (CTO) have spent the past year developing a sophisticated algorithm that allows Mela Verde to facilitate 200,000+ trades daily for the digital asset market. This enables us to generate outsized returns for our partners, and substantially contribute to liquidity and stability in the crypto market.
Who We Are
Mela Verde is not your ordinary fintech startup. Rooted in enduring friendships and unexpected journeys, our team is as unique as the mission we've embarked upon. Our Founder and CEO, Leo Martinez, transitioned from being one of Canada's top personal trainers to a self-taught coder, fueled by his passion for the disruptive potential of cryptocurrency.
His early friendship with our CTO, Kyle Mifflin, reignited years later on a snowboarding trip, culminating in a trading algorithm that now powers our operations. Kyle, originally a Kinesiology major with a natural gift for math, co-develops and refines our trading strategies.
Completing our trio is COO Ryan Harris, whose friendship with Leo blossomed during training sessions at Equinox. With a diverse background in Business Management and the film industry, Ryan adds unparalleled operational insight to our venture. Together, we're driven by friendship and a united vision: to accelerate the institutional adoption of cryptocurrency and redefine financial markets. And yes, we meet in person—over snowboards and gym sessions—to dream, refine, and build a decentralized financial future.
